You've shot a video on your phone and want it on YouTube, X and LinkedIn. Normally that's three apps, three uploads and three captions. With BarlaPost it's one upload and one text.
The short version
- Install BarlaPost on your iPhone or Android phone and create an account.
- Connect YouTube, X and LinkedIn. Each one opens its own sign-in page, and you approve access there.
- Pick the video, write the text once, tick the three accounts and publish — now or at a time you choose.
One text, three jobs
The same text does something different on each platform:
- YouTube uses the first line as the video's title (up to 100 characters) and the whole text as its description, unless you write a title of its own in the YouTube section.
- X shows the text as the post, up to 280 characters.
- LinkedIn shows it as the post, up to 3,000 characters.
So write a first line that works as a title, and keep the whole thing under 280 characters if X is ticked. The composer shows a counter for each account while you type, so you see the X limit before you publish. If X needs a shorter text, give X its own version of the text for that post and let YouTube and LinkedIn keep the long one.
The video itself
- One video per post, up to 100 MB from the app. Photos and a video can't go in the same post.
- X takes videos up to 2 minutes 20 seconds on a standard account. If yours is longer, untick X for that post.
- YouTube Shorts: a vertical video of three minutes or less usually becomes a Short. YouTube decides that from the video itself, not BarlaPost, so shoot vertical if you want a Short and horizontal if you don't.
- In the YouTube section you choose public, unlisted or private, say whether it's made for kids, and pick a cover: any photo, or a frame from the video itself. (YouTube only applies custom covers on phone-verified channels; on others the video still goes up.)
Posting now or later
Publish at once, or pick a date and time. Scheduled posts wait on a calendar in the app, where you can still edit or cancel them, and they're sent from our servers at that time, so your phone can be off. Video takes a little longer than text to go out, especially to YouTube.
When one platform says no
Each account is published separately. If X refuses the video, say because it's too long, YouTube and LinkedIn still get it, and BarlaPost shows which one failed and why. You fix and retry only that one, so nobody sees the post twice.
What to know about X
X charges apps for every post sent through its API. To keep BarlaPost free, X posts have a monthly allowance per workspace: 10 units, where a plain post counts as 1 and a post with a link counts as 5. The composer shows how much you have left before you publish, and the allowance resets each month.
And TikTok?
The same video can go to TikTok too. Until TikTok finishes reviewing BarlaPost, posts sent there are visible only to you; we'll say here when that changes.
More: cross-posting text updates to LinkedIn and X, the features, or the FAQ. The free character counter checks the description against every platform’s limit before you upload.
